A third-generation Californian, born and raised in the Santa Clara Valley, Cyd has been a resident of Pacifica, CA since 1987. Her volunteer activities include serving as a board member of the San Mateo Community College Foundation and as well as a foundation to raise money for a classroom in the Pacifica School District. A financial advisor since 1984, she is currently a First Vice President with Minneapolis-based RBC Dain Rauscher. She holds a BA in Psychology from San Jose State University and a CIMA (Certified Investment Management Associate) from the Wharton School of Business.
Edward (Ned) R. Hearn
With his principal office in San Jose, California, Ned Hearn’s legal practice concentrates on intellectual property and business matters related to creative artists and media-based companies, concentrating on the entertainment, internet, and computer software businesses and their convergence. This includes recording, production, and publishing; multi-media and internet web-based productions; digital distribution and repurposing of content; licensing, distribution, and marketing; copyright and trademark matters; merchandising; sponsorships; film, television, video productions, distribution, options, scoring, and soundtracks; content syndications; clearances for use of intellectual property in all forms of media; talent services negotiating and contracting; strategic alliances; content catalog sales and purchases; business start-ups and development; private financing; and private mergers and acquisitions of content and media-based companies.
Bruce has been involved in software development and media publication since 1992. He has experience in management of distributed development teams, as well as design and architecture of internet infrastructure technologies. Bruce studied computer science at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign. He currently sits on the boards of several nonprofits, with focus on education and scientific research.
